About Us

Our story

Summitry started with a simple idea: great gear shouldn’t require a second mortgage. We’re hikers, runners, backpackers, and weekend dirtbags who were tired of choosing between overbuilt, overpriced products and cheap stuff that quits early. So we began curating our own hand picked products—focused on weight, durability, and value—and sharing it with the growing crew of people who’d rather be on a ridge than in a checkout line.

Founder- Jacob: "After leaving the Army, I struggled to find the same sense of purpose and clarity that came from the structure, the challenge, and the brotherhood I’d known. I turned to the outdoors — first as an escape, then as something much deeper. Backpacking, hiking, trail running, and camping became more than hobbies; they became the way I reset, learned patience, and reconnected with who I really was.

Out there, miles away from noise and pressure, I found something familiar — the discipline, the endurance, and the quiet pride that came from pushing through hard miles and unpredictable weather. It reminded me of the best parts of service: perseverance, adaptability, and earning every inch.

But as I got deeper into the outdoor world, I noticed something frustrating — good gear was ridiculously expensive. I was spending thousands of dollars on equipment from big-name brands that often cared more about their marketing than the people actually using their products. I saw too many companies charging premium prices for things that should’ve been accessible to anyone with the drive to get outside.

That realization sparked something in me. I started learning everything I could about outdoor gear design — materials, weight, construction — and eventually began testing and sourcing products myself. What started as a personal project to build smarter, lighter, and fairer gear grew into something bigger: Summitry.

Summitry isn’t just a brand — it’s a reflection of what the outdoors gave me. It’s about freedom, simplicity, and earning your way forward without needing to break the bank to do it. I want people to experience that same peace I found on the trail, without feeling like they have to choose between quality and affordability.

Every product we release is inspired by real experience — tested, refined, and built with the same mindset I had when I first set out on my own: make it durable, make it practical, make it worth carrying.

For me, Summitry is about more than gear. It’s about building something honest — for those of us who chase our next summit not for recognition, but for the quiet satisfaction of knowing we made it on our own terms."

What we believe

  • Durable by design. Materials and construction that hold up to real abuse.

  • Light where it counts. Shed grams without sacrificing reliability.

  • Fair prices. Direct-to-you means more trail, less markup.

  • Repair > replace. Parts, guides, and support to keep your kit going longer.

  • Tested outside. Every product sees rain, dust, and elevation before it sees a product page.

How we work

We prototype fast, test hard, and listen to the community. If a zipper snags or a strap rubs, we fix it. If something performs brilliantly, we double down. The result is gear that feels dialed from day one—and keeps earning its spot in your pack.
